Cuddyer

Wow Joe!

With so many nice picks left you went for the 4 corner OF'r. You playing him at first?

I had you looking for a character guy with those clubhouse issues.

Joe ain't a 4 corner OF kinda guy especially with a 2 roll injury. Joe might be saying the draft is a lot tougher this round. All the no brain'r picks are gone and Mike is the best in the litter.

Perhaps so.

I'm surprised he didn't take (don't mention any names here) and then grab Mike on the next turn. Just saying.

Cuddyer should play 1B, not OF. I might have taken him this round if Joe didn't.

Cuddyer will either end up on RF or at DH.

I thought he was the best RHB available. I needed someone to hit behind Freeman. As I said on the pick, didn't like it for the reasons you state Semper, but I didn't think he'd make it to the end of the 5th round. When you're on the corner you have to sometimes take guys early.

We'll see if he ends up being worth it.

NLD History coming up.

NLD History Posted

Congrats again to Big A.

Here’s a recap of the NLD History. Posted here: http://www.angelfire.com/games5/joethej ... istory.xls (you'll have to copy and paste to see the file)

• Big A got his first title in 23 seasons and four playoff appearances. He was due!
• Stoney has made the playoff 3 straight times. Tell me again why we worked to bring this guy back! ;)
• Silver has the record with six straight and also has an 11 of 12 streak.
• AT is working on a 3 of 4 streak and JTJ on 3 of 5. Korky missed after making two straight.
• JTJ/WM are the “Cy Youngs” of the league leading in all-time wins and losses. They are sitting on EXACTLY 3000 wins.
• First time ever three teams finished with the best record.
• In fact, it’s only the second ever tie of any sort for best record. The other was NLD 21 in 2008.
• The top six finishers were the closest ever: 88-88-88-87-87-86 wins.
• Interestingly enough, the STD Deviation wasn’t the closest ever. That would be NLD 23 where the best record was 86 and no one finished with fewer than 72 wins. Four teams had 83 wins tied for the last playoff spot, and two tied for the second best record with 85.
• Only the sixth season where no one cracked 90 wins.
• Best record now has the most Champs overall.
• gmac joins the list of single NLD players with Herring and Chasenally.
• gmac leaves with the second worst record ever only Patty Boy was worse (.401 in four seasons, averaging 65 wins). Maybe he'll come back down the road and improve his record.

For the two early NLD seasons, Mike's card hasn't disappointed. Too bad SOM doesn't compute a WAR metric - then we'll see if that weak range + arm impact the value.
