ANDY'S ALTERNATE HISTORY 3.0

Every season there will be x amount of players beginning their 'ALT History' careers. After we complete the 6 round live draft, there will be quite a few players left over to fill out your roster with. There will also be a lot of free agents who were eligable the previous season, but unused. Hope that makes sense.

Frank, as a for instance, when we finished the just completed Season#4 draft in ALT2.0, there were 34 entry players who went undrafted. These, plus players who were not rostered in the previous season are available to be placed on anyone's draft card.

For example, for my ALT2.0 Cardinals in prep for Season #4, I placed Milt Galatzer on my Autodraft card because he was not drafted in the Entry Draft for the upcoming season. I also placed Hal Rhyne on my draft card. Rhyne was not rostered by any team in Season #3, but he was still eligible to play in Season #4.

So, in addition to your franchise pick and draft picks, you can grab any ELIGIBLE player who isn't another manager's property when you create your Autodraft card.

I know there's a lot of info right now, but our other vets can attest that it all makes sense very quickly.

A brief chronological outline of what will happen when Season #1 is OVER.
1--I'll send each manager a League Mail detailing your "retirees". This message will also include new Stadium options and/or Relocation Options for your Franchise if applicable
2---I'll post every player in the Season #2 Entry Draft by Franchise Affiliation, asking each manager to select his Franchise Player. (You CANNOT trade this pick, but you CAN select a Franchise Player and then trade him)
3---We start the Entry Draft based on Reverse Order of Finish, running 6 Rounds
4---After the Entry Draft, I'll post Season #3 Eligibles on the ILC (every player eligible to play in Season #2)
5---We then fill out our Autodraft cards, including any roster holdovers from the previous season, your Franchise Pick, your Entry Draft picks, and any undrafted, unowned players you may want to add

I was torn between the White Sox and the Athletics. Right now, I'm a die-hard A's fan - however, there's a few lean periods in A's history (I swear they were a farm team for the Yankees for a long time)

So I went with the White Sox. My father's first favourite team (being born in the early 50's). That and I've had success with them in the '21-'46 and '47-'66 theme leagues.

I actually have done White Sox theme teams in 80M cap leagues (once going with the entire 1919 White Sox line-up). Ironically, they blew a playoff spot on the last day of the season. I'm convinced that like Game 8 of the '19 series, someone threatened Lefty Williams' life, and he threw the game, and my playoff chances out the window.
