Lost 2 out of three. I can live with that considering I had two triple A level starters and a 1b signed today from an independent league...

It's worth noting that the game you won had Evans back in the lineup and Ryu on the mound

Evan my team aint bad when I have them out there and I dont Ryu getting them...

The Slugs have made 4 moves . The reasons for the moves...

Swanson: like the Hungry Man turkey dinner...mediocre and white. A .189 ba, struck out 47% of the time.
Dwight Smith. "I just want to say how honored I am to have played for the Slugs for one series, even got 1 at-bat. Something to tell the grandkids." One series...and back to the minors! Slugs Manager: "Listen...I know it's tough getting sent down like this...but we think you have a real future...at Home Depot."
Matt Barnes: Best pitch was the meat pitch. Closer with 12 ERA, 0 saves, 2 blown saves and 3 vulture wins.
Matt Joyce: Pitchers rejoyced when they saw him and his sub-.500 OPS. Had 1 X chance...which he promptly botched.

Freeman, man, you put a smile on my face with your posts. :)

We lost Gausman for 5 games last night. Didn't even get out of the first. Ugh. I hate that when that happens. This team has had quite a few injuries already. Hopefully we're getting them out of the way!

As for Gausman, yeah, pitcher injuries are a drag. Just so rare and random--like your team got struck by lightning for some unexplained offense against Hal.

Sort of related... I wonder when the 60 game injury option is going to get popular?Or is that even a thing anymore? Just 20 more series until I get my player back...what a headache that would be. 15 is bad enough!

I doubt it will ever be popular when you don't have a minor league to dip into or a DL to put someone on. It's kind of a dumb idea IMHO.

Speaking of dumb, I'm trying to figure out why Alex Cobb pitched all 11 innings in a game last night. He has no settings and he was at F0 for the last 3 1/2 innings. If no one else was available, Cordero hadn't pitched for at least 3 games. We won, somehow, but it's pretty weird.

Hal: Dont look at me! I dunno either....

Looking at your relief (Cobb pitched in game 49)

Menez: pitched 2 innings in game 47. Could have been tired.
Nelson: pitched in games 47-48. Could not pitch 3 games in a row.
Hahn: pitched 1.2 in game 48. Could have been tired.
Hatch: pitched 4 innings in game 47. Likely was tired.

So your bullpen could have been entirely blown and Hal had no one to turn to. No certainty but that would be my guess.

Perhaps, except there is Cordero who was available. So.....

Hmm (looking over the Giants)...there is no pitcher named Cordero. Scratches head. Was there a gunman on the grassy knoll? I dont know that either. Maybe if I have another beer enlightenment will come...

Still dead last. Shake up time.

Shake up team after 54 games? I admire your patience. I am usually contemplating a full tear-down if my opening series is bad...
