Reelin' in the Years League - Season 35

A.Diaz was picked in a Prospect draft as for Bryant. Some people tried to get the big carded players in the F.A. draft or the impact player in exch. for prospect picks. We were all playing under the same set of rules. It's just that we don't manage all the same way. I'm open to logic changes to improve the equity but let's not judge this league too hard. We have a long and respectable history and every rules and changes to them has always been taken democratically, so, no miracles here...

This is a great league, with some great competitors. The only thing that needs changing IMHO is that the prospect draft should be worst to first, NFL draft style.

Agree with jflatour that the rules are the same for everyone. So no need to be frightened of any of the so-called elite managers here. They can all be taken down.

CURRENT RULES: PROSPECT DRAFT
2) Effective with the 2012 season, we will hold a prospect draft ..., with managers drafting up to 2 prospects per year -- prospects are those players who have never received a card yet and draft sequence will be random and serpentine.
3) Prospects may be held indefinitely, until such time as a player receives a card, at which point the prospect must be either promoted or dropped -- with managers holding no more than 4 prospects at any one time.

CURRENT RULES: SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT
2) Effective with the 2012 season, we will hold a supplemental draft between the 2 seasons, in which managers may drop and replace up to 2 players, with draft sequence based on the win-loss records of the first season -- managers may opt to not participate in the supplemental draft.

1) ...When the cap increases to $200M, rosters may expand to a 40 man limit.

CURRENT RULES: ANNUAL FREE AGENT DRAFT
6) Prior to the draft for all subsequent seasons, all owners must drop enough players to bring their rosters to a maximum of 30 players, allowing for 10 draft picks. Owners can drop below 30 players, but must not have fewer than 25 prior to the draft.

A couple thoughts on these; please consider:

d- keeping prospects. Not sure how making everyone dump prospects helps achieves more balance. A bad team that has a great young prospect has to drop him? Vote to keep indefinitely!
f - 40 man rosters. Carrying 40 during the season hurts no one, and provides more managerial flexibility, allows for platoons, etc. Especially if we lower the roster retention between seasons to 20-24...I don't see how paring down the in-season roster helps any weaker teams. Vote 40!

I am for eliminating prospects ,but if we vote to keep them I want indefinite retention , but must roster after 2 years ,a position between the two offered . Maybe we could revisit this issue if we vote to retain the prospect draft
