The spirit of the league seems to be that you should steal. Even if you then don't have to draft the player that you stole. But no, it doesn't seem to give an advantage so it should be ok.

My perspective is somewhat skewed because, as Commissioner, I'm trying to keep the draft MOVING, in between all our REAL lives and responsibilities
With the way the Shuffles decimates rosters, this isn't a "standard" keeper league. For instance, after I protected 3, got stolen from, and protected two more, there are NO MORE eligible players on my roster.
It's not like those who PASS get another Free Agent pick.

I know that I don't have any real players for people to steal left either, on my roster that is.

With that said, I believe that if you pass on stealing from someone else's roster, you should not be able to protect any more players either. So, for me, your option is to either steal and protect if you wish, or neither.

I also choose to PASS on the STEAL round

I already had a player stolen so it certainly was no advantage for me to pass. The reason that I passed is honestly because it is a nightmare to figure out what players are available to steal. Having to go back and forth from the old season to the new shuffle takes forever. If there was a way to make it easier I would probably steal a player.

Well, I go through the rosters formulating a list of options for me to steal, so I guess I could do that and provide it for everyone.
I don't look at every single player, but it wouldn't take that much longer to do it.

In short, my decision-making process is....I don't see anything wrong with passing and don't see an unfair advantage to be gained by doing so.

If someone sees and can articulate an argument that it would be inherently unfair to allow managers to PASS on the Steal Round and/or 4/5 Protect Round, I will consider it.

(Remember, you are not even required to put your Keepers and Steal Players you receive on your draft card. They are yours to help you construct a team, not to be a burden to your roster and decision-making.)
