I'm not sure how I didn't catch this before, so my apologies to all. But it appears Chase is two over his prospect limit. Please correct me if I'm wrong. In looking back, Chase started the year with 10 prospects and promoted Waters and Rutschman. He had five picks in the prospect draft prior to the draft's start. With two roster spots, three of those picks are void.
I'm open to suggestions here.
The two picks that put Chase over are Round 2: Harrison, Kyle P SF and Round 3: Ricky Tiedemann P TOR.
1. Chase could forfeit those picks, and we could 1. allow them to be drafted through a cascading system with the next up able to draft them and the player they drafted becomes available to those behind or 2. those players could be disallowed in this draft.
2. Chase could keep the picks and lose his corresponding round picks next year. He would need to get to the limit either through dropping players now, using this year's supplemental draft (dropping active roster players and promoting prospects; essentially forfeiting his supplemental picks), or, if the owners prefer, prior to next year's draft.
3. We could let Chase promote two or three prospects and lose the rights to Caleb Ferguson, Kyle Freeland, and Reese McGuire.
As the FA Draft is closed and those picks may have had ramifications for other owners, plus the promotions were not made prior to the draft, I'm disinclined to accept the last option.
I'm leaning toward allowing Chase to keep the players and drop/promote at the supplemental draft, but would like input.
