PROSPECT DRAFT

CURRENT RULES
1) Effective with the 2014 card set, we will hold a prospect draft after the annual free agent draft, with managers drafting up to 2 prospects per year -- prospects are those players who have never received a card yet and draft sequence will be random and serpentine.
2) Prospects may be held indefinitely, until such time as a player receives a card, at which point the prospect must be either promoted or dropped -- with managers holding no more than 4 prospects at any one time.

a. Shall eligible prospects be those who are the property of an MLB team and:
- Have never received a card yet,
- Have not appeared in MLB as of the end of the season of the current card set, or
- Have not appeared in MLB as of the first day of the prospect draft?

b. Shall the draft order in the prospect draft be:
- Random and serpentine, or
- Determined by the combined win-loss records of the 2 regular seasons for the previous card set: Reverse order, worst-record first, NFL style?

So you guys are all okay drafting a "prospect" as just a guy with no card?

If I'm reading that right, that means that a guy who is injured and misses an entire season but has played in the MLB before becomes a prospect again even if they have MLB playing time. Zack Wheeler for example. if wjs6768 had cut him last year.

Why call them prospects then, you should just rename it the uncarded potentially someday carded draft.

No, you're misunderstanding. Prospects would still be defined as players with no prior MLB experience. What we are deciding here with this vote is where to draw the line: the previous season or prior to the draft. Call it the Cody Bellinger vote.
