Az - I think what Dr. Publix is getting at, is that for sup draft, the player pool would be known prior to start of season, So if someone like Taveras does play in his first game (and wasn't drafted as a prospect already) he would not be eligible for sup draft. Only those players who had MLB experience prior to start of year are eligible, regardless if they had a card or not. Some someone like Christian Bethencourt, with 1 AB, would not be eligible for FA draft or prospect draft but would be for sup draft (under option 2 that is).

Not much of a response so far. Option 1 marginally ahead of Option 2.

Would be good to hear from a few others soon.

P.S. Michael Grammes texted his vote for Option 1.

I am changing to option 2, and would be in favor of drafting before cards come out, say Feb 1st. I think it would be good to have one league drafted before cards come out when most drafts occur.

Okay I understand that but I am still for the first one because then there is no gray area. It is cut and dry, if he is carded, he's eligible. If he isn't carded, he isn't eligible.

OK, a couple of things:

1) We seem to have slowed down!! We are almost finished with this draft folks. Let's keep pushing to the finish line. 8-)

2) We had 7 people chime in about rules regarding player eligibility in subsequent drafts. 4 (big, az, MG, hawk) prefer option 1, while 3 (dave, Dr.P, ghost) prefer option 2. We need to clarify this now, and we've waited long enough for the other 5. So I suggest we proceed with Option 1 on the basis of the 4 - 3 vote. Can we all live with this?

Cheers,
big

I am fine with it, if it needs to be discussed at a later date, can always be put to a vote for the following year.
