Looks like Pacoboy might be considering the Reds Royals combo that got him a DFL record 104 wins a few seasons ago. But the cap was higher then.

I couldn't be happier that the DFL ringless Red Sox fell to 11th.

Meanwhile, MEAT and I both dislike the performance we've gotten out of Tiant. I said before last season that Tiant was an overpriced overrated underperformer, then put him on my Cleveland roster, mainly because I didn't have a lot of good other options and Treyomo was in my division with the Bosox, and I feared facing Tiant 5 or 6 times. Although he won 23 games during the regular season, he was 0-2 in the semis, getting bombed twice. When I had the Red Sox previously, Tiant was a late season acquisition when MEAT dumped him and he was again 0-2 in the playoffs.

Now that MEAT and I have the Indians and Red Sox again, respectively, it will be interesting to see which one of us, if any, gives Tiant yet another chance.

Also just a heads up; Strat was supposed to release approx 50 new individual cards as well as the entire 1991 Twins roster. It doesn't appear that's going to happen but in the event they do release them before we conduct the draft the new cards WILL be eligible. You can view the players being added in the card discussion forum entitled new adds 20.4
Looking at the list, it doesn't really look like any impact players, nor do the Twins look that strong, so if it's a last minute thing I don't believe any of these players will tip the balance of power for any one team. Don't wanna wait because nobody knows for sure when they will be released.

Even if SOM timely adds the cards to the ATG9 player set, I still would have to ask SOM to add those cards to the special ATG9 Post WWII set SOM created at my request. It might take an extra week or so for SOM to add the applicable new cards to the special ATG9 Post WWII set after they are added to ATG9.

Apologies for my cynicism, but, this can be manipulated (potentially) for perceived (or maybe real) advantage. I would like the Commish / Toine to decide now whether or not we're waiting for the new cards (Bernie will ask SOM to add them to his 1946+ set). I prefer not to have everyone draft their teams and then decide it....

BTW, I'd like to personally extend a warm welcome to Hackra as the newest member of our league. I've been in many leagues with him. Doc is a great guy, is one of the best managers in the game and will be a perennial strong playoff contender. We will all become better managers as a result of competing with Doc and learning from him.

Doc has been following the DFL for some time, as he is a retired pediatrician and has been reading the DFL ILC forum posts the last few seasons. Also, at his request, several months ago, I sent him links to previous DFL seasons, so he is well acquainted with DFL rules and policies and will surely hit the ground running.

So welcome Doc. Although I'm in the same division with last season's playoff managers, I sure am glad that you and your Giants are in another division.
