You never know what someone's circumstances are so its hard to be critical if there is a life issue.

However I do think a 24 hour clock for both FA and prospect drafts would be fair to all. Should we take a vote?

I would say 24 hours for 1st round and then all subsequent rounds are 2 hours as they are now. If we do vote, I think it can't go into effect until this draft is over.

Should have stated that it would go into effect with the next draft. Should include supplemental.

I guess the other question is do we really need any more than a two hour clock for the 1st round of future prospect drafts? Since they begin right after the FA draft everyone should be aware of the status of the draft.

I'M for that proposition

I'm only in favor of a clock in the first round of a draft when it starts immediately after another one; e.g., if next year's prospect draft had a 2-hour clock in round 1, I think that would be fine.

For either the FA or supplemental drafts, though, I'm not in favor of a first round clock. Those drafts do not instantly follow another or start at a prescribed time and date. Life happens and managers need a chance to know that the draft has started, before losing out on a first round pick.

On another type of timing issue, I've noticed that the new forum clock is set on either Eastern Standard or Central Daylight time. For the simplest operation, let's just say the draft clock runs from 9AM - 9PM Central (which is the same as our regular 10AM - 10PM Eastern)

I agree with the 2 hour clock for the prospect draft next season. This draft does not affect our playing the current season. Though, it would be nice to get it over with.

There is no need to wait until the morning to make a pick. The point of the draft clock is that there is also no requirement to make a pick until then.
