Ok next yr they are fair game

Pending a different consensus, I say just leave all the new cards be available after game six of the new season, then it will be first come, first served but with the salary hit. Keepers can be dropped then and teams rebuilt but at a cost. Another layer of strategy in building for next season. It's never too soon in SBDL.

I'm good with any decision, I'm ready for the new season.

This is a busy week for Doc Hackra so it may be a bit before he checks in.

Joe, for the record don’t like first come first serve after 6 games.

Dont like 6 game either . a 5 percent drop will not hurt anyones team. Plus we all live in diff time zones so first come first serve bad idea.

Agree about the dropping after Game 6 negatives. I'm fine with whatever the group wants to do. Either make them all off limits until next season, OR make them all available at the start of Round 5. BTW, while I am excited to see the Betts card, at 11.77 he is way overpriced IMO. I compare it to the best two (3 game injury cards) of Clemente's, one of my all time favorite players. A quick comparison has Clemente with more hits on his cards, Mookie with more OBP and a little more XBH (although Clemente's 6.58 card is very close in XBH). Clemente has the better arm, Mookie the lower e rating. Mookie has the edge in speed and base stealing. Hits in to less gba's than Clemente. But is that Mookie card worth another 4-5 million in comparison to Clemente? I sure don't think so. That was a great year for Mookie, but wow, he is priced up with the giants of the game - Mays, Musial, Mantle, etc. I don't see it. Without resorting to complex equations or formulas, my "eye test" would price that card around 9-9.5m, and well worth that price. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, btw!

drafting new cards after Game Six. It was just a suggestion
I suspect Doc Hackra will have a different solution.

Now that everyone knows there are new players having them available with the beginning of Rd 5
or for the Waiver Period would be fair to everyone, while I won't be selecting one,

I don't see a card I can't wait to use, Season 59 is OK with me, I already have my 75 win team mostly
selected but I'm good with whatever the majority wants.

AndyC is traveling and he sent me a note that he is good with majority decision
I also have his next pick for when we get started again.

Sorry for entering the discussion late. Unfortunately I was working overtime taking care of sick kids in the hospital the last couple days and it has been extremely busy.

Regarding the new players, if they had been available at the start of the draft, we would have used them.

I feel the correct solution is to allow them to be drafted, but not until the start of round 5 (to make those with cruddy records have the first shot). They can also be selected in round 6 and the auto draft.

Unless there is objection, that's what I feel is right.

Also, please do not let sick cousins or relatives visit a new baby...even if it is xmas or the only time they get a chance this year. Babies die from that crud, and I don't ever want anyone to have to deal with that again.

Geez doc so sorry that you had to deal with that specialy at Christmas time. I can imagine the stress and worry everybody in your family was experiencing. I hope the children are all okay.

Sorry for venting. My family is great. The 26 little kids I admitted to the hospital yesterday and the 8 in the ICU not as great.
