I thought Big M might weigh in, but I'll get things going.

Got email from Zim. He's willing to give it a go, but is having computer problems. He should know soon I think. In any case, we can't get past 11 picks until AT is ready next Tuesday so hopefully whatever issues he's having can be resolved in a week.

So, I haven't heard an overwhelming desire to revisit the cap so are we good for 80? Anyone want to call for a vote?

I *think* we need to vote on parks. As I mentioned in my last post, I think there are three options. If you don't have a preference, please state that. Vote below:

Ball park picking
- Random
- First round (Really this is a "pre round" I would assume)
- Drafting with a pick as usual NLD.
- No Preference

East
Zim (Probably)
nythawk129921
Semper Gumby - First round (emailed me)
Jeepdriver -

Central
Corky -
bigmahon -
Stoney18 -
BigAlric -

West
durantjerry -
joethejet - Draft as usual.

I thought we just wanted to change things up a bit last time on the random parks thing. I do not want to vote on how we do parks every new league. It's hard getting everybody together to vote and I think sticking with the same way is just best. So if I have to vote it would be for the way we've always done it.

Another problem is the slowness of DD. It hasn't gotten any better. I realize there's no solution there; but, I feel like that's one reason why we have a much higher turnover today. I'm not looking forward to another draft on DD. Instead of fun, it's aggrevating and laborious.

Jeep,

Change isn't always bad. I'm not one for voting everytime either but we have to sign a list anyway so i don't see how this vote takes any longer. It seems as though most might like knowing parks beforehand, so why not change for the better if most want that? Remember first round doesn't mean randomization, you actually do draft your park but we get it out of the way first.

As far as DD goes I guess the only solution would be a forum draft? The proxy thing would likely hurt us as well as keeping track of everything.

I don't mind the random park deal once a season just to change things up but I prefer the strategy of picking a park during the draft.

Re my preference - draft as usual - I like the "poker" feel to that - i.e. how late do you wait to draft your park? But it doesn't bother me at all if we do something other than this - either random or corky's suggestion. But preference is draft as usual.

Hopefully strat has a live draft system up and running for the next time we do a league - from Garcia's blog on October 3:

"Over the last few weeks we have received a few questions regarding the Manager Ratings. Although we do plan to restore them and had thought we would already have it, our programmers have since shifted their focus to the live draft module which should be added to the site relatively soon. After that is completed our programmers would then be able to return to their normal schedule including the reinstatement of manager ratings."

Hey guys, sorry for the delay. New semester + new students = not much time.

I prefer $80m cap and draft parks as usual.
