Yes, it's a HUGE challenge to overcome when HAL's dice tossing ain't loving your cards. In the days before online SOM, I used to put the bad dice in the freezer!

LOL. Shouldn't you have put the dice in the oven to *warm* them up???!!!

I'd like to put my team in the oven. Be nice to finish strong. We actually won a series tonight after dropping five straight in brutal fashion.

That series was against me Joe. HAL puts in Gorzellany in the top of the ninth who promptly gives up three runs. I lose the third game in 12 innings. I know my team is bad but I'm due for a little luck. The only thing I'm putting in the freezer is a bottle of Vodka so I can watch the replays.

Easy. Because when you're 12 years old you do figure that a warm oven will melt dice

For all my team's effort, we can't grab 1st place away from Hawk!

We'll see how if Hawk's late season roster changes payoff during the divisional match ups.

Joe,

We stole 1 from Lopez last night. He's not getting the breaks this season.

Yeah, we left 10 on in that game. At least we hit a LHP like we should. Didn't score enough runs, but at least we made it exciting. We're 9-22 v LHP. That's just stupid. Our offense *should* be pretty balanced v LHP/RHP.

This team may not be the best team, but it has had a lot go wrong. For example, just noticed today that we are 25/100 in BPHR while our opponents are 46/111! That's a HUGE difference when you've played 40 one run games.

But, as Big M has pointed out, I'm not the only one. I think Big M and Jeep's teams are a LOT better than they have played too.

Zim, yeah you're right, only the first place teams have a winning road record.

Hey, my guys are 6-6! ;)

My hitters are 4-22 for BPHRs versus my pitchers yielding 4-15. Given the 1-8 LH split, where is the dice love?

A month later, the BPHR split evened itself out.

 Holy Smokes! Have a day Asbrubal! 6-7 12 RBI, 1 2b, 2 HR! Interesting thing about that game. 37 runs scored (29 by Corky) with 10 unearned!

Even a blind squirrel can find a nut on a good day.

Of course, Asdrubal's likely in his final contract year so he needed a good showing to get bumped up on Joe's ratings.

Speaking of ratings. Started working on luck factors. Only got fielding done today.

Code: Select all
Park   FRt   Rtg   F%   Dif
BigAlrc   203   2   3   -1
JeepDrv   364   4   5   -1
ArrylTr   375   4   1   3
Zimmer.   398   4   6   -2
nythawk   449   5   8   -3
Gbrooke   459   5   7   -2
BigMahn   484   6   7   -1
SemperG   549   7   6   1
JoeTJet   550   7   10   -3
Corky..   573   8   8   0
Stoney.   634   9   7   2
DurantJ   685   10   9   1

Code: Select all
AT.....   83.9%
BigA...   81.0%
Jeep...   78.6%
Semper.   77.6%
Zim....   76.8%
Big M..   76.0%
Stoney.   75.7%
Gbrooke   75.6%
Corky..   75.2%
Hawk...   74.8%
DJ.....   74.2%
JTJ....   73.7%

AT is far and away having the best fielding and a bit out of porportion to what you'd expect.

At the other end Hawk, and JTJ are getting the bad rolls.

In our Injury watch we have the following:
Ruiz: 16
Votto: 4
Frandsen: 3
Hunter:5

Ortiz: 8
Kepp: 4
Jay: 6

for us
Montero, playing platoon, has lost 12 (with six more to come) games in three injuries (compare to Ruiz)
Hill: 6
Wright: 2
Rios: 6

DJ
Pujols: 6
Zobrist: 2
Butler: 3

You'd think the guys on GB and AT's teams weren't injury-prone by the numbers above. :o
