I must say the prospect draft has turned things upside down, and fixing it will be a disaster since picks have already been traded over and over and continue to be. It has effectively neutered next season's free agent draft. the 24 best players will be gone, and by making the order random, some of the best teams will get some of the best upcoming cards. it should be players who have yet to play a major league game, not without cards, so it would be a true prospect, and guess work as to what his minor league numbers really mean, or how soon he might be called up or ready, or POSSIBLY get a card for next season. naturally I say this because my future is particularly crushed by it, randomly getting the 9th position...but without competitive balance, or the teams getting drilled having a chance to improve in the near future, or at least compensated fairly for their futility, the 25 dollar a season investment, now TWICE a year, becomes a waste for the west.
the horse is already out of the barn, but at the very least, the fix should be, "yet to appear in the majors," and get rid of random order.
