Well, we do have a different mix of teams this time...once again, two Yankees squads (no surprise), but the Athletics are absent and now we have two Tigers squads. And now, Braves, Twins, Mariners and White Sox are all fresh ones, too.

Don’t worry, Guy, last season, both Yankees squads could have been as well called The New Yuk Patsees. And the RedSox weren’t great either. Redsux?

Don’t get too relaxed though, I’m sure adjustments will be made, and the extra $5MM this go-round could prove to be very beneficial to the Yankee teams.

One manager told me yesterday that he would like to take the weekend to work on his team. I think that's a good idea because we have a liberal trade rule for this league, so it will be good to have several days for GM's to attempt to work deals.

It was fun last time, to wheel and deal in my efforts to upgrade the SS position for the '79 Pirates. In the end, I dealt Lee Lacy to the '90 A's in exchange for the A's partial rights to Jason Kendall, so that I could then trade Kendall to the Mets for Jose Reyes. It worked out...despite missing 27 games to injury, Reyes led the league in triples and was third on my team in runs scored. Kendall played 158 games for the Mets, hit .305 with an OBP above .400 and coincidentally was also 3rd on his team in runs scored. And both teams made the playoffs. A true win-win!

I was thinking of the Big Red Machine, the 1975 Reds. Also, another season with no Giants team!

I seriously considered the 75 Reds before going with Seattle (my hometown)

I'm looking to upgrade my SS position - have 1 rated 2b in Reynolds and 1 rated CF in Cameron available, among others.

I thought about the Reds and Giants but have recently lost with both franchises in other leagues lol....then I remembered my very first time playing with Strat cards, I had the 87 Cards.

Kendall for Reyes was a nice trade, but I would have still preferred HAL giving me Piazza lol one of these days I'll own him here.
