Moss rediscovered his stroke :D

If the rest rediscover their stroke, the season looks bright. Up to now, the Shanghai squad isn't struggling to stay above .500 for long stretches. Based on the card chances, I expected more offense. I'm suspect my weak steal and base running ratings force a station to station outcome. When my hitters aren't rolling XBase hits, I'm going to lose more than win.

Despite drafting pitching as an afterthought, the bullpen keeps me in games. So far, Hamel has been a huge surprise for a cheap SP*. I saw Burnett pitch twice last year and his SOM card results confuse me. He kept the Pirates in quite a few games last year.

Otherwise, my fielding isn't too shabby with the OF getting a few DPs from aggressive runners.

Since I know Joe is going to ask why?

Offense just wasn't scoring enough runs. Pitching was good but we were 5-14 in 1 run games. Hopefully Votto can stay heathly enough to get on base in from of Jones/Ramirez/Rios.

We'll see if it makes a difference but we're far enough into the season that I had to do something.

Yep, I certainly would have asked.

Interesting moves. Clearly your poor record in one runners has a lot to do with where you are and, most likely, a sign that you're not getting a lot of breaks. Interesting that you choose to upgrade at closer, but I dont' think Balfour was all that bad for you.

Votto will help your O and Utley should be OK too. As you know, a lot will hinge on their ability to stay on the field. Pods isn't going to replace the O lost by Aoki however.

A teaser for later. Fielding isn't dependent on the pitching usage or parks so I can publish that now.

Code: Select all
Big M   144
Hawk   156
Big A   212
Stoney   402
GBrook   416
Jeep   448
Corky   492
Keyzick   497
Semper   521
JTJ   525
AT   579
DJ   608
Average   403

Overall very good fielding teams. I think my team is a decent fielding team that would have an average rating in the past, but it's third from the bottom (practically tied with Semper) this time around.

The three at the top are VERY good fielding teams.

Intersting that 3 of the bottom four are in the East. Only Big A has a top fielding team in our division.

If your fielding looks off to you, LMK as I may have your lineup wrong.

Two late leads handed away by my 'dominant' closer. I need some help in the bullpen, no question... :x

Hey Big M, we were a 1-5 HR away from another BS for Chapman! He closed it out however; with three good innings. :(

OMG, Willingham finally has a hit v a LHP that didn't leave the park! He's only 5-46, but 4 of the hits have been HRs. I was wondering when that was goign to happen. Hopeflly he can raise that BA a little bit!

So Big A, which team is going to blink first? I think we've had the same record series after series for what seems like 10 series!

Looks like we play each other in two series. I wonder if we'll still be tied. :?:

JTJ,

no blinking allowed. I think it all comes down to our series on 5/5.

Aw man, we pulled a game ahead tonight by sweeping Semper. You'll have to even things out tomorrow!

In other news, Willingham has crossed the Mendoza line! :)

Joe, all kidding aside, it's nice to see you having a good season! I know you've been frustrated for awhile.

Thanks, but don't be trying to jinx me now. We got off to a good start in a couple of these leagues just to fall apart down the stretch :( I can remember losing Pedroia for like 30 of the last 50 games which just killed me in one NLD.

We're up two on Big A after the last two series, but we lost Asdrubal for the duration of the series. Not the biggest loss, but wish we had him.
