4 season league Franchise League 1+1+Stadium +1 extra player

BDward I saw you did chime in at the time so I knew you were ready. So let's hope we can move forward. Are you okay with replacing 1 or 2 owners. I feel like we gave bcp7 enough time to at least let us know if or when he would be available. I understand when there is a live draft like this, that everyone has things going on and may miss a few hours, but a few days on the other hand is questionable.
So I don't want to see anyone leave, but understand fully their perspective. I know it's hard to get 12 owners to agree on everything, but if 6 or more of us could agree to move on with the draft it would be nice.

This may not be an ideal situation but if BCP7 isn't going to be here then dropping a new owner into his spot before anything baseball related has been decided seems like the lesser of all evils.

If it's no biggie, then let me take the 4th slot and put the new guy in my slot. Or, move everyone else up one slot and the new manager picks last. I just have a problem with allowing a new Manager the 4th pick (Mantle or Gibson or the likes) for four seasons while managers that were part of the original sign-up are left to pick later. If it appears that I'm being a squeaky wheel about this, then that's cool - just replace me as well and get two new managers.

I get what you're saying but penalizing a guy for replacing a no show by putting him last seems wrong, you're arbitrarily penalizing someone who stepped up and helped out but didn't meet some artificial deadline. Really, the only thing that changes is the name of the manager picking 4th, but your solution would penalize the guy helping out and reward the eight behind him. And why? Because the guy he replaced didn't show up to the draft. It's nobodies fault BCP7 didn't show up, certainly not the replacements, so why should anyone be penalized or rewarded? Once again the only thing that would change is the name of the manager picking 4th, I don't see how that's unfair to anyone.

My thinking since Friday on bcp7 was that he might have gone out of town for the weekend with no internet access. I am prepared to wait till mid day tomorrow for him to resurface.

I don't understand the anxiety over giving a new signup the 4th pick. The rest of us have been given our draft slots in what was previously thought a fair method. I had the 5th pick and still do. Nothing has changed.

I also want to clarify the four season commitment. We will draft a total of three players and a stadium in this draft. These players and stadium picks will be used in all four seasons with varying salary caps with a dh. We will draft an additional 22 players each and every season. There will be no more drafts after this draft is completed.

Finally, this is suppose to be fun for everyone. Let's turn the page and go forward with the draft, play our four seasons and have fun. Anyone have a problem with having fun?

I strongly disagree with JoeyC and wholeheartedly agree with N Texas Widowmakers. We all had a fair shot at the 4th pick and didn't get it. As stated by others, where we pick has nothing to do with how long we've been in the league or our managerial status, returning, new or replacement. No one has a claim to the 4th spot except bcp7 or his replacement.

You know, methinks that this has nothing to do with whether or not bcp7 plays, but has everything to do with a manager being unhappy about where the randomizer slotted him and using this as an excuse to try to better his position or quit because he doesn't want a low draft pick.

It's nothing more than extortion, playing upon the eagerness of those hoping to get the league started right away. Although it's not solely my call, I say keep the same slots and if someone wants to walk away over what he claims is an unfair process, so be it. Most of us know better than to believe that.

WE WILL WAIT UNTIL 4 PM EASTERN TIME TOMORROW FOR BCP7 TO SAY ANYTHING. IF WE HEAR NOTHING FROM HIM, WE HAVE 1 MANAGER AGREED TO TAKE IS PLACE. I THINK IT'S JEFF (muellerinwesttn) HE WILL GET THE 4TH PICK. IF WE LOSE 1 MORE MANAGER (bontomn) SAID HE WOULD STEP IN.

JoeyC - I know you have been in a few of our themed leagues in the past. Ric, Dan and I sure hope you stay with us. Can you let us know as soon as possible what you plan on doing if and when Jeff takes over for bcp7 in the #4 spot and the draft resumes?
