We will wrap this FA draft after round 3 is complete. So if you have an open pick listed and you don't need/want to pick please post DONE/PASS/NO THANKS...something to that affect.

After we complete this FA draft I will post a time for frenzy waivers to begin. In addition there will probably be a need for a few forced/coerced trades to make clubs whole. This is a solid group of guys so I don't expect anyone to go all whacky because of it, just bear with me and the process. No one is going to make you trade your top guy.

tks

Current Yankee status -
Dropped Berryhill since he was picked. As a 2nd catcher i picked up Jeff Newman as he was last on the list of available catchers. Of the 3 guys on free agency none have Yankee ties.
Still have Berra & Castillo to drop but have 2 players to replace them, still have RP McLaughlin and Stoddard to drop but have 2 RP available to replace them.
I have 6 SP but need to drop Wilcox & Swan with no Yankee SP available. I will have to add a non-Yankee SP just have 5 after the draft and also add another non-Yankee pitcher to replace both Swan & Wilcox.

Cardinals are done but will only have 13 hitters available. It is a DH league so not having the 14th guy shouldn't hurt too much. I think others may be in this position as well.

Edit to add - Tom Brookens is an eligible catcher and did play with Yanks in 1989 but isn't listed as NYY in the game. Should I take him instead of Newman?

Jim Deshaies did have a cup of coffee with the Yanks early in the career. Should I take him as my SP? He is currently one of the better free agents but the only one that ever played in NY. I don't think the Astros are going to need any more SP.

I still have Dawley to drop, but there are not more pure RP Brewers

Houston is good, I believe

I'll get you Odell Jones if we have to.

But please note, I just conducted a little study on the make up of our pitching staffs and it let me have all SP and SP/RP with no pure relievers. The only requirements seem to be 5 SP's and 5 guys that can relieve, no pure reliever requirement in the 80's. Can someone confirm that is accurate?

That might open up a few more options for guys, just throwing it out there.

Based on a review of 80's Game Rules this seems correct. ('80s, 1982 is highlighted on the actual page.)

Milwaukee traded Valle and Dawley with the FALCON for Mark Clear and Billy Schroeder so we are ready for launch on Monday.

A big word of thanks to Rosie and FALCON on helping me, and everyone else, get to compliant roster. They must know they 80s player set very well by now.

YF

The FALCON made some entertaining films back in the serial days. And when the lead changes from the original falcon George Sanders to his brother Tom Conway who is Sanders actual brother. Brothers for brothers

While I appreciate the creativity and effort Schroeder is property of the Angels as they used their first FA pick on him.
