Okay let me try to clarify a few rules etc; I think best to provide some examples......
1) VISICK has the Astros which has a Caminiti card ( the lower salaried of 2 cards)....the Padres have his highest salaried card but they did not get chosen in the draft, thus VISICK owns the rights to both cards and can use either card. He could also trade Caminiti if he so desired.
2) I have the Redsox which has the highest salaried Freddy Lynn card. Gamiam has the Angels which has a lower salaried Lynn card. Because I own Lynn's rights, Gamiam cannot claim Lynn until the first game is played (if I don't have Lynn on my roster), nor can he claim him and then trade him, at least not in preseason.
3) There are no restrictions on the number of trades you can make, however remember you can only have 1 non roster player on your team ( in my case I own Redsox and Mariners, so I can only have 1 player on my roster who does not have a card for one of these 2 franchise). So You could in fact trade away a player that you obtained in a trade, in theory you could make 10 trades but when the dust settles you still can only have 1 non roster player. Also the non roster player must have been obtained via a trade and not simply a player plucked out of free agency.
So before you pull off that big trade make sure of your team needs, because in all likelihood it will be your last trade!
Hope this clears things up a bit.
