Gentlemen,

It is as I feared it might be. The ratings guide was released online on Jan 21st. I'm quite sure some of our more astute owners acquired the guide and have been combing through it looking for one sided gems to but on one year $500,000 contracts. My hope was that we would complete the free agency signing period prior to the release of the 2020 Card Set data, but I now see that will be impossible with the release of the ratings guide.

I would like a gentleman’s commitment to not buying the ratings guide, and not previewing online cards through the known hack, until free agency is complete. Do we all agree? And if you have already used the guide, let me know through PM so that I can work out another more equitable solution.

I don't buy the ratings guide, but many do. I don't think we can not allow it as many of our owners play in multiple leagues and they use them there. I think that in a league as complex as this, we should be able to look thru baseball reference or some such and find who the really good 1-sided guys are anyway.

The ballparks were posted in a thread in a league I commish and I'm glad paul copy/pasted here for everyone.

my 2 cents....

I agree. I purchased the ratings guide a few years ago and it wasn't telling me much that I couldn't figure out from looking at the stats on mlb.com. I have mapped out a small pool of guys I would like for the remainder of free agency and the ratings guide wouldn't change that.

I am in a bunch of keeper leagues and I would assume people use it there also. Would be difficult to ban it in one league and have a bunch of owners using it in another.

I purchased it (as I have the last 2 years). I'm not going to say I haven't used it, but I wrote down a list of about 30 names prior to free agency, and the guide hasn't changed my thinking on those 30. As the 30 start dwindling away, it'll be more useful I'm sure.

I've got spreadsheets for every team into which I copy/paste the numbers for your players so I can quickly evaluate potential trades, and is mostly what I have been doing since I got it. Winter in Wisconsin fun.

If you all want numbers on a few players, I think I can give some out without breaking any copyright laws. Certainly can't give the whole thing away. Just PM me.
