New 24 TKL - 2/10 deadline for ballpark change

Shouldn't the dispersal draft be before the cards come out? Kind of an advantage knowing who has what price when drafting them. Incentive to join sure, but still I think it is much easier for them this way. Plus it hinders pre-draft trading. Just playing devils advocate here, but it does irk me a little knowing they can create a team knowing price points, when we don't get that luxury usually in a keeper league

why wait we all love to draft....

I guess we can have it before the cards are released, my thinking was that existing owners won't have to make cuts until the cards are released while the new owners are only drafting 20 carded players. I will just change the dispersal draft to start tomorrow untimed, will start timed picks on Monday. However, I will allow the new owners to draft up to 30 MLB players if they want and draft uncarded MLB players from the dispersal players pool. Then the new owners will need to cut down to 20 MLB players at the same time as everyone else.

Prospects will still be part of the dispersal draft and can be drafted at any time in the dispersal draft, new owners can draft up to 10 prospects but may not have more than 10 overall after the regualr prospect draft.

Available players for the dispersal draft - Dispersal teams may draft up to 30 MLB players (regardless of 2014 card status) but will have to cut down to 20 at the regular cut deadline. Dispersal teams will draft prospects in the dispersal draft at any time they wish. Up to 10 prospects can be drafted during the dispersal draft, the maximum number of prospects is 10 for all teams so if a dispersal team has 9 or 10 prospects after the dispersal draft they will either need to cut or trade prospects or only be able to draft 1 or 0 prospects in the regular prospect draft.

I don't really understand the objection to waiting for the dispersal draft, considering that we wait until the online game release to declare keepers (and, if you recall, this league began midseason and we played our first season using the previous year's cards - meaning that we knew price points for that initial season while conducting the original draft). But, if it means we can get started more quickly once the game is released and none of the new owners object, I'm all for moving it up!
