The Free Agency period is officially closed. Spring training camps have now opened and the LA Dodgers have taken their first steps toward winning 161 games on the way to a World Series defeat at the hands of the scrappy Baltimore Orioles.

I will set up the prospect draft, but it cannot begin until after the card prices have been released and arbitration decisions settled. In the meantime, have a look at your 2024 roster column and decide whether to cut, extend, offer a long term contract, or take to arbitration any player with arb1, arb2, or arb3 next to their name. Pre-arb players can be cut or extended at the pre-arb price.

Cape Bear Management and players opened the 2023 season in Florida with all 40 roster players and prospects present and will get down to daily workouts but 1st we have a few contracts to work out before the season begins.

Reserving my right to change these once Phil releases the 4 and 5+ year extension figures, here are my contract decisions. I don't anticipate that any changes are likely.

I am exercising Luzardo's option and declining Loup's.

I am keeping all of my pre-arb guys at their minimum contract amounts.

I am offering arb3 to Rengifo and Grisham.

I am signing Vlad Guerrero for the minimum $4 million salary for his arb3 year.

I am cutting nobody. I am not offering 4 or 5+ year extensions to anyone.

The deadline for all contract decisions is not till March 31. I noticed that ggyuppie has a couple of option year decisions still to make that he didn't include in his contracts post. That's not breaking any rule but Phil might prefer if we include everything in one post.

You guys are a bunch of type A strat players! I said you might want to start THINKING about your contract decisions. I'll post a thread after the arbitration cases have been settled sometime in mid-march. Once we have the arbitration numbers, I'll put together the salary requirements to extend Arb 1&2 guys and Arb3 guys.
