So Altuve was a bad example being a 6+ player. I also drafted Montas a 3 yr player. Are you saying I can wait till I see how he does this year (in real life) before having to decide on extension or arbitration or even cutting him? That doesn't seem right because I'm making the decision on what he gets based on perfect knowledge of what he does in 2020 not on what I think he's going to do like I would have to do in a real life negotiation.
For Montas, after this years draft you can give a 4 year extension at the league average salary of the top 50% of players by salary at SP or his current salary of $5.57M which ever is higher, or you can play with him this year at $5.57M, then before next years cards come out either cut him, or go to arbitration, where he'll get either $2M, or his 2020 SOMO price, whichever is higher, or do the 4 year extension thing again, as above. At least I think that's how it works?
