About Chris Sale... If I protect him, with the 2024 card set, I'll have to send him to my NL team if I want to keep him ?
Even if it's not the Braves (my NL team) ?
He would count as one of my 4 in the NL ?
Would I get one more player to protect in the Boston team ?

Chris Sale will play on your AL team in 2023 and you can keep him on your NL team in 2024. At the moment, there is no requirement to keep any specific players on either team. That may change if the league later votes to do that.

In 2024, you would start with zero "franchise" players on either team. You would be able to keep or drop as many of your 56 players as you'd like.

Modified "core of 4" option (for consideration)

The original four players selected from the respective MLB franchises will count towards this requirement until such time as they are released or traded by the Oktoberfest Keeper league manager who originally picked them. If they are removed from team roster of said manager, then they must be replaced with a carded player from the "parent" MLB club. I believe that a proposal similar to this one would help protect managers who selected small-market MLB teams in our league from the predatory practices of realworld clubs like the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers who tend to suck up the most valuable free-agents when they become available.

Just for clarification, are you proposing any different treatment for Soto and Ohtani who are switching leagues in 24 and therefore could no longer be a core Padre and Angel, compared with Snell who will not be a Padre in 24 but is still in the NL so will still be on your National League team?
