Ernie is correct Dave - selection must have a current card eligible to be used in our season. That would eliminate the Unleashed set for us.

No clock on holidays right... Would suck to be skipped this early in the draft when the first round took two plus days.

Does anyone recall whether it was a 2 or 3 hour clock. I believe it was in effect M-F 10 AM EST to 11 PM EST, but correct me if I am wrong about that.

Great pick Edub1969 It was too much of a coincidence that I was looking in from Japan and saw you pick the guy I had in mind for that slot. You're having a pretty fair draft, it seems to me. ;)

Sorry for messing up the Draft Thread, but it was just tooooo much.....

Guys I am likely playing for next year, so I will be taking best player available in most cases. I am mostly willing to deal hitting or (present or future) for pitching & picks but will listen on everyone. Really no one is untouchable and I have some good pieces:

now cards: Choo, Lind, Heyward, Cozart, Carpenter, Raburn, Duda, Hamels, McGee, Ramos

future value: Russell, Marte, Wong, Span

Will only deal 1 of Russell or Marte but if you need SS to compete, a Cozart/Rusell package would not be bad, right?

Also willing to downgrade picks in order to get picks next draft.

Holler at me on email -

From a few days ago:

blsmith7 wrote: Does anyone recall whether it was a 2 or 3 hour clock. I believe it was in effect M-F 10 AM EST to 11 PM EST, but correct me if I am wrong about that.

From last years FA draft:

blsmith7 wrote: There will be no clock for the first round, that will be followed by a 2 hour clock for all subsequent rounds between the hours of 10 AM and 11 PM. I am also going to keep the clock on 7 days and not turn it off for the weekend. We have 15 rounds to get through and I don't want it to drag on and on.

There was then some debate about the weekend clock. The result:

blsmith7 wrote:Clock will remain in effect over the weekend. Use your proxy power!

smitty, can you give a thumbs up or down to the weekend clock this year. The first weekend last year was veeeery slow, thus your ruling above.

Thanks Bob (and everyone else) for keeping things moving. We'll go with the 2 hr clock between 10 AM and 11 PM EST and will shut the clock off on the weekends for now. I will reserve the power to put the clock on for the following weekend if our progress is slow.

Personally, it really difficult seeing all this talent go off the board. I picked a tough draft to give up my first two picks.

On another note, I am also personally deflated as my HS team lost today in the SJ semifinal to our rival. We lost 3-2 in eight innings and all three runs we gave up were unearned. Tough way to lose, especially for a great group of seniors we had.
