Maybe we can stop the draft for a day or 2. I don't see a problem with that. I have 3 teams going now and I am drafting 2. I can wait as I am in no hurry to get another league going. The only problem I have is keep checking in. If we suspend the draft for a couple of days then no one has to be put out by checking in all day to see if it is thier turn.

What does everyone say about that.

I can wait until Sunday to start back up. YES

Excellent idea. I support that. We need special days to heal when we turn 50. Let's make them now.

I think I know a little bit about what Michael is going through now. I can't lift weights at all, or workout, because I have severe shoulder pain (probably from nerve impingement) if I lift two pounds and I can't even ride a bike (knees). To top it off, I have major numbness/constriction (very painful) in both feet ALONG with plantar fasciitis in one of them (tore it real bad last year!). Basically I can't walk, fart, or chew gum without something hurting like a mutha. F me. So all of this is why I'm here night and day. I do walk to the grocery store late at night once in a while for survival sake because the colder air seems to be less of a problem for me (I live in Palm Springs)...but the feet still go numb and still hurt - just a matter of degree of pain....as does the back at times. Getting old is fun!

NL players only. We will play the regular set, never the unleashed set. Unleashed players, are available to be drafted in bench building draft, but of course, cant be on the active roster, till they receive a card from SOM that is not in the unleashed set.

Houston players for our first season as a league (2 seasons on SOM), as with all players cut/traded by NL teams to AL teams, also, must be cut before the start of our FA draft next spring.

We will play 2 seasons a year. One soon as our draft is over, the 2nd, the 1st week of Oct. Division assignements for our 1st season, will be 1,4,7,10...2,5,8,11...3,6,9,12 Divisions for the 2nd season this year, and all years, will be by record, 4 worst teams, will be the East, for playoff teams, will be West, Central will be the other 4. Ties broken by run differential.

Our initial draft, is 26 rounds (25 players, 1 stadium) Serpentine style draft set by randomizer our opening season.
Draft a stadium whenever you want. No clock first 3 rounds. After that, clock runs 7 days a week, 10A-10P EST, 2 hour clock.

Stadiums are lifetime contracts, unless, the bp effects change by +/-6 in one category, or, by +/-15 in all four categories combined. In keeping with the theme, NL only stadiums. Stadium drops, must be made during the FA draft before season 1, of any given year. Replacement owners, may choose at new stadium when they enter the league, before, the FA draft.

During the initial season, after game 42, we will have a bench building draft of 10 rounds, NFL style, draft order, will be by record, worst to first, after game 42 is played. Ties will be broken by +/- run differential. Unleashed players, may be drafted. After the bench draft, we will have 35 players on our roster. After the Bench Draft, any legal SOM team roster is allowed.

Moves within your organization are unlimited, as we will play with the 200 mill cap. Keep in mind, all SOM rules apply. 11 pitchers, 14 hitters, two catchers, 25 min, 28 max etc etc etc...

A 5 round prospect draft, will be held at the end of season 1. A prospect, is any player, that has never had a SOM card. Again, NFL style, worst to first, ties broken by run differential. Once a prospect gets a card, he must either be promoted, or cut.

Before next season (2013 cards) cuts are to be made 1 week after SOM makes the new cards available online.

10 round FA draft, with the draft order, determined by the combined record of our two seasons, NFL style, ties broken by run differential of the combined seasons.

Other rules may be brought up by any member of the league, and voted on by all, with a 7/5 majority for any further rules to pass

Draft order at determined by randomizer.

Somebody suggested stopping the clock... Has anybody heard from Zim or dave? While I have not been 100 % or, anything close to it, I have been checking in. Seems this was a bad weekend for the league.

We can continue picking, but lets hold off on the clock till monday morn. As far as keepers go, this seems to be the red headed step child, which is ok, remember I want to make this thing right the first time. So, lets finish going easy this weekend.

We'll restart the clock morrow morning at 10 A EST. Is that ok with everyone?

K, onto Dave now...

And on side note... Surgery sucked, was in the OR for an hour and 40 mins... and I was just pose to be getting scoped...

Scraped arthritis.. check
Tried to fix a cartlidge tear.. check maybe. Doc said there was a significant tear to my cartlidge in two places, he is unsure the repair will hold/take. Only means bad things down the road if it doesnt take.

nerve damage in my right hand after surgery.. Check! Cant move my arm but much at the moment, and hard to explain, but the feeling in my hand isnt quite right. My hand almost has a bad land line lag to it... Slow, doesnt quite do what I want it to, for exmple, I dropped a cig, didnt even know it. I was holding it, not lit thankfully, and went to put it in my mouth to light it, when it got there, my hand was empty lol

That, could suck, and will have to keep an eye on it of course.

Thanks for posting your health update stuff Michael. You telling your story helps me get out of my own (and I'm sure others as well) denial a little bit. A lot of the crap you're dealing with is right up my alley. Great! I was even told that I could go paralyzed due to my neck thing. I don't even like thinking about until I feel something snap and smell something burning (my neck). I better deal with it though.
