Championship series is now going to game 6. Each game has been a one-run affair ..
Tense! I won the first two, and Ernie won 2 of 3 at home. We now head back to Fenway to see if my guys can win one at home. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but the way this set had gone for me, it wouldn't surprise me if we lost both. C'mon reverse jinx!

Thanks Gentlemen! I was finally able to win one with the 2016 set in my final go round. So, I leave that year with a smile, though it was very frustrating. I appreciate everyone's participation throughout the year with this league. I also always appreciate that this league gives us something to get through much of the offseason, as the wait builds for the new set.

I also want to take this time to raise a question, since I've been running this league for a few years now. Maybe some of you original owners can enlighten me as to why the FA draft in this league is 15 rounds, and why I have to cut 15 guys (almost half my team) each season. I understand cutting UP to 15 in other leagues if you want to do so. But, why should I have to cut 15 guys from a team I constructed if I don't want to cut that many? 10 cuts seems plenty reasonable. (Actually, I would prefer not to have to cut any players year to year if I don't want to. After all, a real life GM can bring his entire 40 man roster back if he so chooses. There is no mandate to release or cut ties with players). I understand the idea of turnover each year, but we don't have a minor league draft as it is, so we always have new blood coming in each year.

I may have actually broached this topic a couple of years ago (I don't quite remember, and don't feel like going back through the boards to check). But, I would like your input into this, as I am considering putting it to a vote to change that rule to a roster of 30 prior to the FA draft, with the option of dropping to 25 (which would also make record keeping a tad easier). What do you guys think?

I'm one of the newest in the league Smitty so whatever you and the veterans of the league decide is fine with me. Would prefer either the option to cut to 30 prior or a no cut mandate as described above FWIW

I prefer to cut down to 30 with the option of 5 more.

I agree. I don't think you should have to cut 15 players. I think a mandatory roster cut down of 10 with a option of up to 15 makes a lot more sense. I do believe every other keeper league I am in makes you cut at least 10 not 15.

Except for HCKL, same here. Which is why I like the 15. Something different.
