Thanks Gentlemen! I was finally able to win one with the 2016 set in my final go round. So, I leave that year with a smile, though it was very frustrating. I appreciate everyone's participation throughout the year with this league. I also always appreciate that this league gives us something to get through much of the offseason, as the wait builds for the new set.
I also want to take this time to raise a question, since I've been running this league for a few years now. Maybe some of you original owners can enlighten me as to why the FA draft in this league is 15 rounds, and why I have to cut 15 guys (almost half my team) each season. I understand cutting UP to 15 in other leagues if you want to do so. But, why should I have to cut 15 guys from a team I constructed if I don't want to cut that many? 10 cuts seems plenty reasonable. (Actually, I would prefer not to have to cut any players year to year if I don't want to. After all, a real life GM can bring his entire 40 man roster back if he so chooses. There is no mandate to release or cut ties with players). I understand the idea of turnover each year, but we don't have a minor league draft as it is, so we always have new blood coming in each year.
I may have actually broached this topic a couple of years ago (I don't quite remember, and don't feel like going back through the boards to check). But, I would like your input into this, as I am considering putting it to a vote to change that rule to a roster of 30 prior to the FA draft, with the option of dropping to 25 (which would also make record keeping a tad easier). What do you guys think?
