Hey Guys,
Thought I'd start one of these and see if there is any interest in chatting about our league which starts tonight.
We were going for a good hitting, good D team and I think we did OK in that regard. We missed on Fowler and Aoki, but recovered ok. Also missed on a couple SPs so our rotation is very average. Hopefully a little deeper pen will help.
Any thoughts on your team?

I like my team a lot. I have now played in about 6-7 leagues. I think this may be my best, if the pitching holds up. I made a mistake and took Coors Field. Oh well, maybe I'll enjoy high scoring games. Looking at the other teams, I think it will be very competitive. Low 90's in wins should make the playoffs.

I always like my team at this point of the season (before game 1!). We shall see how I feel in two weeks, or maybe even in two days! Best of luck to all.

Can't say I ever named my team after a pet before!
Tough start for us tonight. Lose my CA for 8 games and Trout for one game. Amazingly enough, we hit only .198 but managed to score 19 runs!
only got one win however as our pitching was brutal.
Oh well, first series doesn't tell you too much.

This is my first "pitching/safeco" team, I usually like slug it out teams. Alcides Escobar 0-11 in first 3 games....ouch.

I like my team, but I've become a poor judge of that. I've won 100+ twice this season, and also had 2 losing teams, and I swear I can't tell the difference, other than dice rolls. I love your chats, Joe, but I just started the Players Championships, so my mind's more there than here. Haven't even looked at any team besides my own, other than a cursory glance at my division. I'm more interested in what you think, though. You're the expert. Wish we were in different divisions. Dennis, too. Tough league. I'm hoping the Music Lovers 4 at SS dooms them, but you never know. Good luck to everybody. edge

Thanks to everyone for chiming in. This is cool.
Edge,
Yeah, I haven't spent a lot of time looking at any team except for our division. I think Dennis looks pretty good. Not as sure about the Music Lovers.
This team is an experiment for me. I rarely vary from a balanced approach so we'll see if a hitting team in a pitchers park can do well. Of course, not getting Cain or Wandy put an even bigger crimp in my pitching approach.
Oh well, we'll see how it goes.
Joe

Another tough series, lost a close one and won a close one. Average jumped 50+ points so that's better.
I think Gallardo will get better, he currently has an 18.39 ERA in two starts!
No where to go but down from there!

Yeah,I agree, Gallardo will get better. Kershaw threw another Gem last night, teams at 3-3. Im worried the lack of power might hurt me. Did u guys see Chase Headley is hitless so far ? Man....

tought start to the season for Chase. however, like Gallardo, it's not likely to stay that way for long.
