DOUBLE FRANCHISE - Draft Concluded - Time to Start

:F.A.Q - I will edit this until we all agree and understand
I've never run a private league before, but as I come up on my one year anniversary of playing here on line I was considering starting a new Unique Stadium 4 Season League....more to come...details for the league can be hashed out privately once we get our 12 owners in a private league chat.
Here's the crux...We'll randomly determine draft order then each owner will draft ONE FRANCHISE HITTER or PITCHER and then during the 2nd round MUST draft ONE FRANCHISE HITTER OR PITCHER from the same FRANCHISE, they may or may not be from the same ERA...the Unique Stadium MUST be from the same Franchise and be selected along with the first round pick...The stadium + FRANCHISE HITTER + FRANCHISE PITCHER must be used in ALL seasons for the league and can NEVER be traded and/or dropped!
The 2 rounds will be run in SNAKE order...Here's the catch, If someone drafts Babe, another owner could take Gehrig, but they would have to each DRAFT unique New York Yankee Stadiums....example with the 3rd pick Owner "C" takes Babe and takes the Yankee '48 and with the 11th pick owner "Y" takes Gehrig and takes the Yankee '71...owner"Y" would then need to pick a Yankee pitcher from ANY era as his second pick and then the Ruth owner would have to take another Yankee pitcher with his second pick...I hope that's clear as mud.
For subsequent seasons there would be no protect lists other than everyone would know the FRANCHISE HITTER AND PITCHER and STADIUM in advance of the drafts of all the other owners....some strategy and yet there would be RANDOM divisions, so you can never be sure who's gonna be in your division from league to league
If you want Bonds in Pittsburgh then you have to pick a Pirates pittcher in the second round and play in a Pittsburgh park....if you get Bonds in SF then a SF pitcher + SF stadium...when you pick your 2 FRANCHISE players you are LOCKED into that year for the card, no swapping from year to year.
**one more thing, the FRANCHISE is only for the 1 hitter + 1 pitcher + stadium, beyond that everyone is free game in the draft, no restrictions...nobody would hold any other rights over any other players beyond that initial mini draft in any of the 4 leagues.
***NeL*** I'm leaning toward treating the NeL as a Franchise...word of warning if multiple owners take NeL hitters in round 1, be prepared to take weak pitchers...no whining that your pitching options suck!...you can take ANY stadium listed as NeL, but not Yankee (NeL), must be a like a Cath Prep Oval or Martin Park not also used by a an MLB team.
****yes, Harry you're exactly right...it makes it interesting...you have to consider that if you take Ruth #1 that it is VERY likely you will get atleast the #2 pick of the Yankees pitchers and possibly 3rd or 4th...something to consider....it also helps to compensate the people with the lower picks....let's say someone takes Cub Hornsby high in the draft and then the owner drafting 11th or 12th takes Hack, then the Hack owner gets his pick of ALL Cubs pitchers and the Hornsby owner must take the left over, not that it's guaranteed Hack would go, but the Hornsby owner would have to consider or might decide to take the St Louis Hornsby but then has to consider getting the 2nd St Louis pitcher since Musial is a possible LATE pick...this system has some reward for drafting later, not lopsided, but it is a little bit of a balance, since many of these types of leagues are totally tilted to the TOP picks having a huge advantage.
******Yes, Kunkel, you're right...There are no restrictions on players from season to season other than the 2 FRANCHISE players, and the 2 FRANCHISE players CAN'T swap cards, i.e. swapping between Mantles or Ruths season to season...once you pick the card you are locked in to that card for ALL 4 different CAP levels....
Something to consider when drafting a player, also since ONE of the seasons will be NO DH, you must consider that if you draft a Kiner or Hack as your franchise guy he will have to play the field ONE of the FOUR seasons.
********If you draft Ruth the pitcher then he is your FRANCHISE pitcher, end of story, can't switch him to hitter later...you then may draft a Yankee hitter with your 2nd round pick...you could NOT have Ruth pitcher and Mariano as your 2 FRANCHISE players.
********* Pre 1900 players are NOT eligible for the 2 Franchise player draft...however, they will all be available to all during each of the 4 seasons we draft, they will be open to all.
*** A BRAVE IS A BRAVE IS A BRAVE
Season #1 - $105 DH
Season #2 - $135 DH
Season #3 - $125 no DH
Season #4 - $115 DH
I've set up the new private league....as you finish your draft, feel free create your team and join the league
League Name: Simmons? Really?.......... Password: Shibe
Don't forget this will be a $105 CAP with DH..........don't forget to use the CORRECT stadium you've drafted.....don't forget to list your 2 FRANCHISE players, correct year as drafted as your #24 and #25 picks on your draft card....you CAN NOT draft a cheaper version of the player and swap out after waivers....please take note.
...there's a chance that we could draft tonight if we fill it before the 11pm eastern deadline.
