I've been playing Strat since 1967 but this is my first time playing the online game. I'd like to gain more understanding about the nuances of the game and would appreciate starting a discussion around this league. Some question I have:
* free agents. Is there an etiquette about how many transactions you should make or is it acceptable to churn your roster until you finally find 25 guys having their peak season? If we're striving for some sense of realism then perhaps there should be some limits?
* has anyone attempted to set up a league where, say, half the players on your roster must have played for one team? For example, in the 60s set you could have a league of the Giants, Dodgers, Cards, Yanks, Orioles, Red Sox, etc., and each team would be required to be made up of players who actually played for that team in the decade. It seems like your could get some interesting pennant races that way...
* Is it common for leagues to have ongoing discussion, or do most people just show up to play?
* Right now there are 4 teams signed up in our league. Approximately how long does it take for a league to start playing?
