Improving my Strat O play....

I wanted to ask for a tip on how I can improve the way my team performs. I've had 5 teams play, and all 5 have finished within 2-9 total wins of each other (typically 65-97). I am sure it's attributed to something I am doing wrong. I try to keep a balance between offense and pitching, but each season seems to be the same. I know it may sound crazy, but Since I am new to Strat Baseball, I thought to ask for some advice / suggestions on how I can make things better.
