Strat-O-Matic Baseball 365

This is the sixth season of a dual franchise league. This League is using the ATG POST WWII CARD SET. Salary cap is 150 million, 10 % drop penalty, Using a DH, no waivers.

Each manager must pick one team from each column below. . For the most part , teams on the left are original franchises and most teams on the right are expansion teams. ( THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS HOWEVER, AND SOME TEAMS ARE COMBINED BECAUSE OF LACK OF PLAYERS.) A manager has exclusive rights to players on his roster; if a player is on more than one roster, he belongs to the team where his salary is highest. We are using a serpentine draft, so each manager picks one team first and then we reverse the order. You can make your first pick from either column. List of teams will be posted below. Please sign up using the cut and paste method. Official draft order will follow in an additional post. We are currently looking for at least one more manager and possibly as many as three; any one interested please post your interest here.

Here are some changes from the previous season I am proposing that I think will help maintain balance in the league.


1) Total team salary will be reduced to 150 million

2) A team that has secondary rights to a player can now use his better card if the player is a free agent;
example; The dodgers don't use Brett Butler (6 mil card) and don't have him on their roster; the Braves who have a Butler( .64) card can now pick him up and use the better card, the one which belongs to the Dodgers.

example 2; if the Cards don't use Keith Hernandez, the Mets may pick him up and use the better of Hernandez's three cards which is his Cardinals card.

I think this is a good way to get some other good players that are not used much onto a roster. Like previous seasons however you must wait until the season begins to use a secondary card. Unless of course the other manager gives you the okay in preseason because he knows he wont be using a particular player.

3) Bobby Murcer will in all likelihood never see a roster because the Yankees already have Mantle and DiMaggio; all of his 4 cards are Yankees cards. He did play for a few seasons for the Cubs...so I am proposing that if the Yankees don't use Murcer, the Cubs may claim him and of course you his better card. I think he would be a good addition to a predominantly right handed Cubs lineup.
