Jeep's "Pick a Theme" Theme League
Particulars:
Start Date: Monday 8/3 Update: Rolling Start Today!
2 Round live draft here on the boards
**(Draft scheduled to start Monday 8/3)**
$80M '14 reg set
DH
Random Divisions
Prog Drops
Any Park/not unique
2 Rounds are serpentine
Randomizer determines Draft Order
RULES:
1. There are 12 different themes. Each Owner will have his own unique theme.
2. Each Owner in random order (1st Rd) picks the theme he will use. Example: 12 Owners = 12 themes. No two Owners will have duplicate themes, or multiple themes.
3. To repeat: One season, one theme for each of our 12 Owners.
4. Owner picking 12th has his theme automatically made for him. Hopefully that first pick on the flip side will make up for his bad luck.
5. The second round will be a serpentine round which everyone picks a player: Hitter or Pitcher. The following is quite obvious, but remember that this drafted player needs to fit your theme or you may lose this player. Example: The Owner with the Foreign Players theme drafts Mike Trout. I just happen to know Trout is from Jersey, so you wouldn't be allowed to roster him. If you do (somehow, you never know) pick the wrong player and the next person hasn't picked yet, you can change it. You Cannot change it if the next person has picked. Surely this won't be an issue, but from doing theme leagues one thing I've learned, put every scenerio in writing.
6. Put that drafted Round 2 Player at the bottom of your draft card. 25th slot.
6. I'm not imposing any time limits. Plz be courteous to your fellow Owners.
Here's the list of 12 themes:
A. Iron Glove: Every hitter must be 3 or worse defensively (incl. subs)
B. MASH Unit: Every hitter must be 2 or worse inj. rating (incl. subs)
C. El Cheapo Pitcher: Every Pitcher must be 4 mil or less.
D. El Cheapo Hitter: Every Hitter must be 4 mil or less.
E. Drug Policy: Every 40 games (3 times a season/last time at 120 games) you must drop a starter (Hitter or SP) and replace him with someone else, due to (that player) failing a banned substance test.
F. Trevor May: One of worst starters in set. You must roster him and he must start every 5 days. Note: You can roster 3 day SP's (*) but they cannot be used to manipulate May into starting less than every 5 days.
G. Speed Bump: Every hitter must be set to "do not steal."
H. Power Outage: No hitter on your roster can have more than 8 HR's in his real MLB season.
I. Red, White and Blue: Your entire roster must be players born in USA (ESPN is one source to see where a player was born, I'm sure there's other sites as well.)
J. Foreign Territory: Your roster must be composed of players born outside the USA. Note: Puerto Rico, although a territory of the U.S. will be considered foreign for this league. That would incl. any other territories also.
K. Forward Thinking: Every player on your roster last name must start after the word "forward: aphabetically
L. Reverse Thinking: Every player on your roster last name must be before "reverse"
