DUAL FRANCHISE LEAGUE SEASON 19




This is the 19th season of the dual franchise league. This League is using the ATG POST WWII CARD SET. Salary cap is 145 million, 5% DROP; WE WILL NOT BE USING A DH THIS SEASON,no waivers.

Each manager must pick one team from each column below. . For the most part , teams on the left are original franchises and most teams on the right are expansion teams. ( THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS HOWEVER, AND SOME TEAMS ARE COMBINED BECAUSE OF LACK OF PLAYERS.) A manager has exclusive rights to players on his roster; if a player is on more than one roster, he belongs to the team where his salary is highest. We are using a serpentine draft, so each manager picks one team first and then we reverse the order. You can make your first pick from either column. List of teams will be posted below. Please sign up using the cut and paste method. Official draft order will follow.

I am going to stick with my original idea and implement the following change for this season only( we can assess after the season); Each team will be allowed ONE player on their roster who is not on a roster of the teams he drafted. However, that player MUST be acquired through a trade. A manager cannot simply pick up said player through free agency.
Because we are not using a DH, this change is being implemented to help teams who may have 2 very good players at the same position but will not be able to use both . Actually I don't foresee a lot of trading because this virtually limits each team to one trade.

Also just for kicks I went back 5 seasons to see from what position the 4 playoff teams drafted: no real pattern that I could detect, but here are results:

Season17 ) 1,5,8, 12

BELOW ARE SOME OF THE RECORDS FROM THE PREVIOUS 18 SEASONS. I DID NOT HOWEVER USE THE STATS FROM THE SEASONS WE USED THE FULL ATG SET, THE STAS ARE SKEWERED. THE NUMBER TO THE RIGHT IS THE SEASON IT OCCURRED IN.

There were 3 records broken in season IN SEASON 18; Sey Hey Willie Mays broke the record for triples in a season with 26;
Jim Edmonds set a record whiffing 230 times and Juan Marichal once again broke his own record giving up a whopping 113 homeruns.
