Dual Franchise League Season 41

This will be the 41st season of the dual Franchise League. Salary cap will be 145 million, using a DH, 5% player drop and no waivers, same parameters as last season. Also, we will stick with the same format as this past season where there is no designation of either original or expansion teams; you may pick any 2 teams on the board.
Falcon created a subset of players just for our format; It is called Post WW2 and includes only players from 1946 to present.
When creating a new team click on ATG 1901 and then there will be a drop down button; scroll down to Post WW2 and pick.
One note; I believe Falcon created a second subset named Post WW2 +, we will be using the subset created on DEC 1,2021, it should be the first one listed which Falcon created.


There will some rules modifications however and they will be explained in the next few posts

First and probably most importantly; we will be playing an alternate format this season; meaning there are approximately 25 players whose rights will belong to a different franchise than in the past season. We do this occasionally just to change things up a bit and try to keep things interesting. As I stated in recent email , most of these players have cards with 2 different franchises, so for this upcoming season these designated players rights will be owned by a secondary franchise. For example, Barry Bonds’ rights will be owned by the Pirates. Arods’ rights will belong to Texas. Some players only have a card with one franchise, but they were switched to a franchise that they played for at some time in their careers (Maris-Cardinals). This was done to balance off any moves as I attempted not to cripple any one franchise. If any of these players are not on a roster after game one, then they would be eligible to be picked up by their original franchise.

Secondly; on a trial basis this season we are going to let each manager choose where he would like to draft. So the manager with the worst record will get to choose his spot first, then the second worst record next etc. I will send out the official order once season 40 ends and each manager can pick his spot below. No need to cut and paste: just list your choice and I will fill in the order below, this way we can keep it concise at least till draft gets underway

Rules for trades and free agents; same as previous season



TRADES

Each manager is allowed to make one trade during the season. However, any player you are trading must be on your 24 man roster in order to make the trade. So, if you agree to a trade while the team draft is still underway; you must wait till the league is created, make sure the player you are trading is on your roster and then make the transaction.
This will allow everyone to follow trades easier and also to prevent managers from making controversial trades by throwing in player" rights" to conduct a trade.

FREE AGENTS

Each team will be allowed one free agent on their roster. The free agent however, must come from one of the 6 teams not chosen in the draft. Additionally this free agent must not have cards with multiple teams.

Using the Angels as an example;

-------if the Angels are not chosen in the draft, Mike Trout would be an eligible FA because his only cards are with the Angels. Players such as Bobby Grich and Rod Carew, would not be eligible because they have cards with Baltimore and Minnesota respectfully.

-------to draft a FA, simply place him on your draft wish list, that way we all have an equal chance of landing a coveted player ( it would make sense to rank him first to better your chances). If you do not get the player you were seeking, and you do not like the player that was given to you by Strat; you can simply cut the undesired player and pick up another.

------lastly, you can only put a claim in for one free agent at a time, you cannot not put several players on your roster to increase your odds on landing a coveted FA.
