2015 Franchise League "Meet the Mets"

This is a thread for people who have joined or ar interested in this League to discuss how to work around a potential problem, ie., there are probably not 12 teams that can meet the $72 M floor.

I have contacted Strat to see if the floor can be removed, but have not heard back yet.

Another possibility is to scrap the league and setup a new one with a lower cap like $70M, though that might mean some teams could not draft all their star players.

I'm open to suggestions. Please post if you have any

Hopefully Strat can lower the minimum so that we can fill 12 teams.

To make things fairer we should consider a dispersal draft of 2 players from non selected teams. Teams with the lowest total payroll would select first.I would like to see each team have players with a total salary near $80m for competitive purposes.

Same problem for a 2008 league I've joined. The salary floor was eliminated in that league, so it can be done. I feel that is what should happen to maintain the intent of the league being all players from the same team. Hopefully you don't have to set up a new league like what was done in that 2008 one. I had to leave the 1st league w/ the floor and join the new one w/out the floor. My team was taken, but I entered anyway and hope the other owner will switch teams like Iceman did for me in this league - which I greatly appreciate.

Thanks for the input

I'd rather not do the dispersal draft thing if not necessary. Yes, that will be a little unfair to lower value teams, but it's part of the realism. There's not a right or wrong answer here. Maybe we can vote on it if the league finally fills successfully.

I'm a little confused. In the 2008 League you had to leave and then rejoin the new league? So, does that mean Strat can't disable the floor after the league is formed?

Is there an option for the person setting up the league to disable the floor?

Not sure. Just know that's how Hobo did it in the 2008 league. Guess we'll find out. Please let us know if you have to form a new league so all of us can re-enter and not get aced out like I did.

Remember too, we could roster all 28 players allowed to reach the floor.

Well, it's filled, so after 11PM tonight we'll see if there was a problem

Yes, if someone has to max out the number of players to 28 to get to the floor, then that is what they will have to do. I wonder if the league would fill if people haven't drafted up to the floor. Of course, it could be some with possibly low $ rosters have drafter outside it. or will HAL do that for them.

So many questions. Hopefully after 11 we'll have a much better idea what's up and be able to discuss it on the team chat.

League header now shows no salary floor. So we should be all good!
