OKTOBERFEST - NL Draft

OKTOBERFEST KEEPER LEAGUE – 12 MANAGERS, 24 FRANCHISES, 3 TITLES

Join the OK League to bid a fond farewell to the current cardset in a new keeper league, starting at the end of the MLB year:
1) 12 managers
2) 24 teams
3) Up to 3 titles each year for the top gun
4) Salary cap of $110 mil for 25-28 players active in the Strat game engine (edited, per SOM rules)
5) Up to 28 players per team; only carded players can be drafted
6) No need to play a rotten rebuilding team twice in the same cardset, as in a standard keeper

SEASONS
There will be 3 seasons each cardset:
1) AL-ONLY: Annual draft begins the day after Labor Day, with season following at end of draft
2) NL-ONLY: Annual draft begins immediately after AL draft, with season following at end of draft
3) WORLD SERIES: Top 3 teams from each league play in a 6-team fight to the finish *
* Managers who place two teams in the World Series must select which one they wish to play; the other one will be replaced by the next-best team in that league

FRANCHISE SELECTION
1) AL-Only draft will begin with selection of AL franchise, with draft order set via lottery
2) NL-Only draft will proceed in a similar manner, with franchise selection draft order in reverse of that of the AL-Only draft
3) Prior to the initial free agent drafts, managers will select 4 carded players from each of their chosen franchises
4) Team names in the league must bear some resemblance to the chosen franchises; e.g., New York Yankees, NY Yanks, Bronx Bombers, etc.
5) Each team will play in the MLB stadium of its selected franchise

I'm feeling dense. Can other owners draft from your selected franchise? If so, in the following year can owners select an already rostered keeper from their franchise?

I have a question also please. With the AL and NL draft, will the NL pick order be the inverse of the AL pick. Example- If I got the first pick in the AL I would receive the last pick in the NL draft. Also, I think that it could be more even in each draft the people that pick the franchises first, should have the lower picks in the player draft. Example- someone takes the Dodgers as their first pick in the franchise draft should in turn get the last pick in the players draft. Having to take Detroit with their 12th pick in the franchise should likely lead to them having the first pick in the player pool. Then the draft could follow the same non serpentine schedule. Just some thoughts. I am very interested. But, want to see about this stuff before we start.

Prior to the initial draft, you can elect 4 franchise players. And prior to each annual draft, you can select 1 franchise player from ones who are not already rostered.

Other than that, any un-rostered player -- whether on your franchise or any other -- is eligible in the draft.
