So, will you take a separate "playoff injury set-up" that others proffered or the same "lenient" injury set-up in the playoffs as well? That's not clear.

Also, I wouldn't worry about any pitchers going out in Game 8. I think they'll be pretty safe then... ;)

I believe Blue Turtle is defending the status quo. Game 8 refers to the regular season wherein you lose Jose Fernandez for the entire year to a TJ operation. Correct me if I'm wrong, BT.

I like the idea of buying cortisone shots or hiring a medical staff to shorten injury periods. You can pay more for doctors willing to shoot the players up with steroids.

He did say, however, that he would take the "Playoff injury setup." Considering we have no "Playoffinjury" setup, it does sound like he is accepting others' proffered playoff injury setups on this thread. It would have been clearer if he had said he would take the current "injury" setup. That would have directly implied the status quo.

Also, his post before explicitly addressed playoff injuries with his effective Vince Coleman/tarp anecdote. That makes his subsequent use of the term "playoffinjury" very likely to refer to playoff injuries, not all injuries.

So, for clarity's sake, Turtle just needed to tweak his phrasings a bit. His anecdotal evidence, though, has been excellent.

Leave playoff injuries alone. Injuries in the playoffs currently receive the same treatment as the regular season injuries. The regular season injury approach by SOM is exceptionally generous; no one is at risk of a season-ending injury until the last 15 games of the season.

I accept it because (a) I have no choice :) and (b) we do not have a minor league system for ease of replacement.

Bad idea. A high injury risk player has cost less money up front. That allowed extra money to be spent elsewhere. You still get to keep those cards you could not have otherwise afforded if you had not rolled the dice and gambled on a high injury guy. Manny being an excellent example. How much more would that card be worth if it was bullet proof? 2 mil? Making him bullet proof is like adding 2 mil to your salary cap while the opponent gets nothing. Injuries can be frustrating. But unless they are ignored in the pricing (which would make them undesirable during the season) gotta carry that risk in postseason.
