As I examine my box scores I can see that a player stole a base. But I do not get to see if the initial dice roll gave that runner a good jump. I do not get to see if player got a bad jump but ran anyway. Ditto on the caught stealing.
Even if we had only the 20 sided die roll it would give us some clue whether player would have been safe even on a bad jump or was only safe because of the good jump.
