Since this is a SOM365 (online) forum, I can tell you Mac players can play just fine since the game is Internet based.
However, I assume you're talking about the computer (Windows) version of the game. Obviously, it doesn't make economic sense for the company. SOM is a niche market; there simply wouldn't be enough sales to justify the expense of creating and supporting a Mac version.
It's a case of the old joke:
Mac: Hey, Windows, what games are you playing lately?
Windows: ALL of them!
