On August 17, 2012, Strat-o-matic made the following announcement:
While again being able to sort by column is a great improvement, a tweak is needed. On pitcher search pages, columns such as WHIP and ERA sort correctly, with the lowest figures sorting first at the top of the page, with the numbers getting larger as one proceeds down the page, meaning that the sort is in "ascending" order, as they should be, as no one searches for the highest WHIP or ERA.
However, when searching for HRs allowed, hits allowed and walks by clicking on the columns, they sort in "descending" order, with the highest amount being on top. I don't know anyone who wants to use a pitcher who gives up the most hits, the most HRs or the most walks. It should be an easy fix to have those columns sort in ascending order, as do the ERA and WHIP columns.
I realize that such columns can be searched by using the pitcher search function, but a one click column search is so much easier and intuitive.
Hopefully, this sort by column header correction for pitchers will be made sooner than later. Thanks for your help. - Bernie W
