Eliminate Avoid Boxes

We can check boxes that say avoid lefties or avoid righties.
Since they don't work and have never worked, why don't you eliminate them?
Then we wouldn't be frustrated when players like Mark Brouhard and Dwight Evans and Joe Cronin continue to hit against right handed pitching even though we checked a box, because the box that doesn't work wouldn't be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this is a problem, I think the terminology is faulty.

a·void
verb (used with object)
1. to keep away from
2. to prevent from happening

If you are checking AVOID and think in this particular game engine that it means your RH batter will NEVER face a RHP or your LOOGY will NEVER face a RH lefty-killer, then you are going to be disappointed. In this particular case, I think AVOID actually means, "I would prefer that this batter or pitcher not face X, understanding that sometimes it will happen."
I know that I check Dave Roberts, for instance, to avoid RH batters, but I know he will face some, for a variety of reasons. If I demand that "AVOID means AVOID", then I am gonna work my way completely through my bullpen in a couple of innings.
