Bring back 1969!!!

1969 was an interesting, challenging game, with lots of tough pitching and a limited pool of good hitters. In other words, the exact opposite of ATG, where your staff of Walter Johnsons is likely to wind up with a 5.00 ERA.

When's it coming back? It's an important alternative game, and it's been missing for far too long.

1969 was my first complete SOM set (including the extra cards). I can almost tell you every player on each team. The set DID NOT include Don Dysdale, Dick Radatz, Roy Face. maybe Tommy Davis I'm not sure. Billy Grabarkewitz had probably the worst batting card of all time (then had a career year in 1970).

I also liked the 1969 game. I had some of my biggest successes with that set. There was a dedicated group of managers that played constantly. People are still talking about the time I coached the 1969 Royals to the World Series in the Bottom 12 real teams theme league. My coaching was brilliant! The 69-93 Royals made it the World Series when all 3 of my Outfielders got hurt and all missed games 3 through 6.

OK--to be clear, "people" aren't really talking about it.....but I am! :D

Kev, You only won with the 1969 Royals because of Hawk "Superman" Taylor.

I sure with we had the 1969 game back too.
