This comment only applies to the mystery card game. My complaint concerns those with a "C" rating, which I think is an undesirable rating. Let's compare; I won't list the second (no-lead) rating because that isn't pertinent to my suggestion.
A = 4-6, 12 (18)
B = 4-6 (17)
C = 4-6/10 (15)
I recommend the C rating be changed to 6/12 (15). Here's why:
1. As it is now, a C stealer is not an asset.
2. Once HAL decides to roll for a lead, A C base stealer will actually "attempt" a steal more often than an A or B (not counting steals where a runner tries anyway without getting a good lead), albeit some of those attempts are automatic outs.
3. My theory is HAL does not consider the automatic out when deciding to steal, which often results in pathetic stolen base percentages for C base stealers.
I believe my suggested change would improve realism. It would make stealing with a C a worthwhile risk, reduce the frequency of C steals (to make up for the improved success), yet maintain the significant difference between a B and C stealer.
