Return of the Lineup (Mystery Card Leagues)

I would like to see an option in the mystery card games that would prevent HAL from "cheating" when creating a lineup (in particular, when the lineup has been left blank). Have HAL use the one of the following methods (listed in order of my preference):
1. Base lineup decisions based the average of all five seasons.
2. Base lineup decisions based on a pre-selected representative season.
3. Base lineup decisions based on salary.
I miss being able to set my own lineups. (Sure you can still do it, but it puts you at a disadvantage.)
I'm tired of seeing hitters cut without an at bat.
I miss being able to take a risk on a 1-season wonder in mid-season because you can be sure someone already had him for a series and HAL game him thumbs down.
If presented as an option, those who prefer the current system can have it their way, too.
