Auto Draft Logic
Posted: Fri Sep 27, 2013 4:32 pmI'd like to see the AD logic changed so that, after every round, people who missed out on a pick in that round were assigned the next pick in the position queue for the missed pick. Right now, in high cap leagues, if you put in for Mantle as a first round pick and someone else does too, the loser isn't going to get Speaker or Mays, but Eric Davis or Pete Reiser.
Certainly a guy that wants to build his team around a top flight CF shouldn't have to endure this punishment.
Similarly for SP, you can put Maddux on your card in the 3rd round and end up with Jack Chesbro or someone like that.
This would make the high cap auto-drafts much friendlier to new players. That would also allow SOM to make the free leagues for new players involve HOF types rather than the current player set. This just has to be a good marketing idea - "play a free online SOM league with Ruth, Cobb, Koufax, Maddux, etc."
