At least an update would be appreciated. It was ten months ago as far as I know and you stated that "Now that the 2001 set was done, other sets would go much quicker" If this is not true and this is not happening please say so! If I missed an update somewhere else, I apologize here for that....

Oldhat, I don't think that this what you wanted to hear, or as much information as you might have wanted, but this is from Garcia's blog on October 3:
"Over the last few weeks we have received a few questions regarding the Manager Ratings. Although we do plan to restore them and had thought we would already have it, our programmers have since shifted their focus to the live draft module which should be added to the site relatively soon. After that is completed our programmers would then be able to return to their normal schedule including the reinstatement of manager ratings."

Thanks for this! It's a response from someone right? Every little bit helps!

Closing in on another year without any progress, performance against your peers is what keeps managers coming back...
This is like a night game, with no lights .....

I don't understand the nostalgia or desire for manager ratings. The old manager ratings systems used to keep track of total championships won, playoffs made, and other achievements. So, they often just told us who had played the longest and who had bought the most teams. They were never true indicators of who the best players were.
If you play enough, you know who the best managers are and don't need managers ratings to tell you.

The old manager rating system, flawed as it was, was liked by many. It allowed seeing your manager name involved on a standings page with other managers. It capitalized on one the attractions that baseball offers, the daily standings results. With that said, I think most managers are hoping for a little tweaking to the old system with taking a little weight off the value of number of leagues played and more weight given to actual league results.
Also, I think part of the problem in the accumulation of the stats from completed leagues, is the number of managers that create a new profile every couple leagues they join to take advantage of the newcomer prices.

I know it was liked by many. As I said, I just don't see why it was. MLB standings results are actually based on wins within a shared season; they actually tell who the best teams are. The old Strat manager ratings system primarily showed who had played the longest and who had bought the most teams. If they "tweak" it enough so it actually shows and represents superior manager performance, then I would see the value. If not, they're meaningless.
I had no idea players had two id's. If you know of any of them, I'm sure the rest of the league would like to know who they are.

What
you do or don't understand about other managers feelings about the manager ratings is irrelevant.
One guy that comes to mind that consistently changes his profile to save money is well known to anyone that plays ATG on a regular basis. That same person admitted changing his name in these forums when the subject came up. I think Strat has let him do it because, even with the discounted price, he still probably spends as much as anyone based on the number of leagues he enters.
