Getting Defensive Subs Into The Game More Often

Too many times I have had a 1 or 2 run lead in the 8th or 9th inning but the players I have marked to go in for defense never do.....It is really frustrating when you have a guy on the roster just for that reason and he doesnt enter the game with a 1 run lead in the 9th.
