Followed up with a moderator who isn't afraid of moving such non-SOM related posts from other forums into that one.

If there was a subforum for MLB discussions moderators would not have to move posts there. People would use it and post there directly. The fact such a high percent of posts on the 200x forum are MLB related underscores the need to have such a dedicated subforum.

100% agree, this would take all of 30 seconds to create and about 10 minutes to move threads into it.

Agreed! But, if a user creates an MLB post in the wrong forum the moderator would need to be responsible for moving it to the proper MLB forum. Maybe they don't have the time to do that so they don't bother dealing with new subforums in the first place.

From what I've seen in forums from other sites being a moderator is pretty much a fulltime job. Anyone here been a moderator before? I wonder if they'd be willing to hire more mods or at least give the current mod(s) more freedom and control.

Wavy, with the traffic on these boards, a moderator could check 2-3 times a day, that would be enough probably.
