‘Mop up’ vs “don’t use before x inning” - suggestion

I have a bad pitcher (joe sparma in the box score below) set up as “mop up”. To discourage regular usage I also have ‘Don’t use before 8th inning” box checked. In a true blow out (16 to 1) the “mop up” setting should override the “don’t use before setting’. But based on these results that is not the case. Frank Lary was brought in with a F0 rating in the 7th.
Hal should use the mop up to override the don't use before setting.

The problem is you want to use the (don't use before 8th) setting to avoid using Sparma except in blowouts. However, the purpose of the setting is to preserve your closer so he doesn't get used prematurely. The game has no way to know your intention (or be "smart" enough to know Sparma is not your closer), so it will in fact enforce the don't-use setting.
